Delete Your Account

You can delete your DoneIt account and its associated data at any time. This page explains how.
Delete from within the app or website
The quickest way is directly in DoneIt:
- Log in to DoneIt (app or doneit.ie).
- Go to Settings.
- Scroll to Delete account, confirm with your password, and confirm the deletion.
Can't sign in? Request deletion by email
If you can't access your account, email info@doneit.ie from the email address registered to your account with the subject "Delete my account". We'll verify it's you and process the request.
What gets deleted
Your sign-in is destroyed, so nobody can log into the account again and the email address is released for reuse. Deleted with it: your name, photo, phone number, worker profile, portfolio, saved jobs and notifications. Any job you had open is taken off the marketplace, and any application you were still waiting to hear back on is withdrawn.
What stays, without your name on it
Some records belong to the other person as much as to you, and erasing them would rewrite their history — a job they hired for, the rating a worker earned, a conversation in their inbox. Those stay, but they no longer carry your name, photo, email or phone number. You appear as "Deleted user".
- Jobs that were assigned or completed, and the reviews left on them
- Reviews you wrote about other people
- Messages you sent, inside the other person's conversation
- Applications that were already accepted or turned down
- Payment and credit records we're legally required to keep for tax and accounting
Any credit left on the account is forfeited. It isn't refundable and can't be moved to another account.
How long it takes
It happens straight away, in one step — there's no waiting period and nothing to confirm by email. The moment it finishes you can no longer sign in.
One thing takes longer: we keep encrypted backups of the database so the service can be restored after a failure, and those are kept for up to 90 days. A copy of your data can exist inside a backup for that long after you delete the account, until that backup rolls off. Backups are only ever opened to restore the service.
