Terms & Conditions
DoneIt · Ireland
Last updated: 14 September 2026
Using DoneIt means you're agreeing to these terms. They're written in plain language — read them once and you'll know where you stand.
1. Who you are dealing with
DoneIt is operated by DONEIT LIMITED, a private company limited by shares registered in Ireland under company number 825844. Our registered office is in Dublin, Ireland, and the fastest way to reach a person is info@doneit.ie. Where these terms say "we", "us" or "DoneIt", they mean that company.
2. What DoneIt is (and isn't)
DoneIt is an online marketplace and a "hosting service" / intermediary under the EU Digital Services Act. We connect people who need local services done with people who do them. Think of us as the noticeboard — not the person on the ladder.
We don't employ workers. We don't guarantee, endorse, supervise, or vet the quality, safety, legality, or qualifications of any work, worker, or customer. We're not a party to any agreement made between a customer and a worker. Any contract for services is formed directly and solely between the customer and the worker. What happens between the two of you — pricing, scope, scheduling, quality, payment, insurance, health and safety — is entirely between the two of you. We provide the platform; you run the job.
Because we act only as a neutral intermediary hosting user-generated listings, we do not pre-check or monitor every listing, profile, or message, and we are not responsible for the accuracy of information users provide.
3. Who can use it
You must be 18 or over and legally entitled to work or hire services in Ireland. Creating an account is your confirmation of this. Certain trades (for example electrical, gas, or building work) are regulated in Ireland — if you offer such services you are solely responsible for holding the correct registration, certification, licences, and insurance, and for complying with all applicable safety law. Customers should always confirm these before hiring.
4. Your account
Keep your login details to yourself. Use accurate information — fake profiles, impersonation, or misleading descriptions will get your account removed.
5. For customers
- Up to 5 active jobs at a time.
- Jobs expire after 90 days — you'll get a heads-up before that happens.
- Email verification is required before posting.
- Don't post anything illegal, misleading, or that you'd be embarrassed to explain to someone else.
6. For workers
- Email verification is required before your profile goes live.
- Don't claim qualifications or experience you don't have.
- Reviews come only from customers on completed jobs — there's no other way to get them.
- We can suspend or remove accounts that break these rules. We won't always warn you first if the breach is serious.
If you offer services through DoneIt as a business or trade, you may be a "trader" under the EU Digital Services Act and Irish consumer law. In that case you're responsible for giving customers all the information the law requires (your identity, contact details, and any registration or licence numbers). By listing as a trader you confirm the details you provide are accurate, and we may ask you to verify them and may suspend listings where required information is missing.
How workers are ordered. When someone browses workers, the default order is by rating, highest first; they can switch to most reviews or price. The three workers shown on the home page are the ones with the most reviews, then the highest rating. Signed-out visitors see profiles with a photo first. Nobody can pay to appear higher in the worker list, and we don't adjust the order by hand.
If we suspend your account, we email you the reason and how to contest it (see section 12). While suspended you can't sign in and your profile isn't shown; your data isn't deleted. We won't always warn you first if the breach is serious.
7. Payments between users
Payments happen directly between customers and workers. DoneIt takes no commission, holds no money, and plays no part in payment disputes. If payment goes wrong, that's a civil matter between the two parties involved — not something we can mediate.
We'd encourage both sides to agree on price, scope, and payment terms in writing (the DoneIt chat works fine for this) before any work begins.
DoneIt does not use personalised or automated pricing. The price you pay for credits is the same price shown to every user; it is never adjusted based on your profile, behaviour, or device.
8. Tax responsibilities
Workers on DoneIt are self-employed individuals, not employees of DoneIt. You are solely responsible for declaring your income to Revenue Ireland, paying any applicable income tax, PRSI, and USC, and registering for VAT if your turnover requires it. DoneIt does not deduct tax, does not issue payslips or P60s, and is not your employer in any sense. If you're unsure of your obligations, visit revenue.ie or talk to an accountant.
9. Credits
Posting a job is free, and a job you post can be answered by every worker covering your county. Credits are spent on three things: a worker spends 1 credit to apply to a job; a customer spends 1 credit to send a direct message to one named worker instead of posting a job; and either side can spend 1 credit to feature a job for 7 days. Every new account is given 2 credits. Receiving a message, opening one sent to you, and replying inside a conversation are always free.
Credits are refunded automatically in these cases. For an application: if the customer rejects it, hires someone else for the job, or closes the job before choosing anyone. If you withdraw your own application, the credit is not refunded. For a direct message: if the worker declines it, or if nobody opens it within 7 days of sending. See the Credits page for details.
Refunds are always made in credits, never in cash. Credits never expire and cannot be transferred to another account or exchanged for money.
How jobs are ordered. Featured jobs are shown first, with a "Featured" label, and rotate among themselves so each gets a turn at the top. Below them, a signed-in worker sees jobs in the counties they cover before the rest, then newest first (or highest budget, if they choose that); visitors see newest first, or most applied to. Featuring is the only paid placement on DoneIt.
Credits are delivered to your account the moment your payment completes. By buying credits you ask us to deliver them immediately, and you acknowledge that once delivery has started the 14-day right to cancel under the Consumer Rights Act 2022 no longer applies to that purchase. This is stated again on the payment page before you pay. Purchases made inside the Android or iOS app are handled by Google or Apple under their own refund rules.
10. What's not allowed
- Harassment, abuse, or discrimination of any kind.
- Fake, incentivised, or misleading reviews, or any attempt to game the ratings system. Under Irish and EU consumer law this is illegal, and it will get your account removed.
- Contacting customers or workers outside the platform to dodge credits.
- Scraping, automated access, or spamming.
- Anything illegal under Irish law.
To keep reviews honest, DoneIt only accepts reviews from customers who were connected to a worker on a real job through the platform. We do not write, buy, edit, or reorder reviews, and we don't let anyone else do so.
11. Our liability
We run the platform — we don't personally vet every worker or verify every qualification claimed. Do your own due diligence: check reviews, have a conversation, confirm insurance and qualifications, and for larger jobs, meet in person before committing to anything.
To the fullest extent permitted by Irish law, DoneIt is not liable for: the outcome, quality, safety, or completion of any job arranged through the platform; any act, omission, or conduct of any user; any loss, damage, injury, cost, or dispute arising from your use of (or inability to use) the service or from any interaction between users; or any indirect or consequential loss, including loss of profit, income, or opportunity.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our own negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded under Irish law. Where liability cannot be excluded but can be limited, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us (if any) in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer under Irish and EU consumer law.
12. Reporting illegal or harmful content
If you see a listing, profile, review, or message that is illegal, fraudulent, or breaks these terms, report it using the "Report a problem" option in the app or email info@doneit.ie. As required by the EU Digital Services Act, we operate a single point of contact for these notices, review reports we receive, and act on them — which may include removing content or suspending accounts. If we remove content you posted, we'll tell you the reason where we're able to; if we suspend your account, we email you the reason. Either way you can contest the decision by replying to that email or writing to info@doneit.ie, and we'll look at it again and answer you.
13. Content you post
You keep ownership of what you post (listings, profile text, photos, reviews), but you grant DoneIt a licence to display and distribute it on the platform so the service can function. You're responsible for making sure you have the right to post it and that it's accurate and lawful. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these terms, and for serious breaches we won't always warn you first.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. Disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the Irish courts. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
15. Changes
We may update these terms. If it's a significant change, we'll notify you via the platform or email. Continuing to use DoneIt after that constitutes acceptance.
